On October 11th (& 14th), our TUF volunteers tackled another park in need of love. Our original 1-day plan transformed into 2 so that we could get the job done right!
Zuni Park Zooms Back to Life!
Sunday, October 11th was a windy Denver day where our TUF volunteers tackled another park in need of love. Social distanced and masked-up, we dove into the play structure at the 51st & Zuni park with paint provided by the Denver Parks & Recreation Department. The day wasn’t easy as high winds and strong sun whipped the drying paint around, but hey, we are TUF after all!
We decided to get together a second day later in the week to make sure the park reached its full potential and were thrilled to see our efforts in resurrecting yet another important part of the Denver Community. We also had a surprise visit from a member of La Catrina who brought us freshly baked cookies as a way to say thank you. She told us her children play at the park all the time and that this improvement was very appreciated!
We are excited to continue working with Denver’s Parks & Recreation in another effort and know that this won’t be the last time we come together. We can’t wait for the next mission that our Underdog volunteers can crush!
